Asian Museums Online Forum Holds in Fuzhou

Co-hosted by Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Fujian Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage, Asian Museums Forum was successfully organized online in Fuzhou on the morning of July 13, 2021, in order to prepare for the opening of the 44th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Fuzhou, deepen the cultural exchanges between Fujian Province and Asian regions, enhance people-to-people exchanges and propel the implementation of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RECP).

Themed on “Seeking the Imprint of the Silk Road”, over 50 government officials and experts from 25 museums from Fujian Province, ASEAN countries, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions gathered in the form of “online conference” to discuss and share the protection, inheritance, exchanges and cooperation of cultural relics and museums along the Silk Road.

This special online forum could be regarded as a Dialogue of Asian Civilization against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. It not only sheds lights on further consideration and fresh practices about the inheritance, changes and communications among museums, but also provides a platform of innovation for joint exploration and integration of historical and cultural resources, expanding exchanges in terms of exhibitions, museum development and cultural heritage protection, and enhancing mutual understandings so as to boost cooperation for mutual benefits and further development.
