Exhibition Dedicated to 460th Anniversary of St. Basil’s Cathedral Opened in Sheremetyevo


Dedicated to the 460th anniversary of the St. Basil’s Cathedral, Sheremetyevo International Airport presents a photo exhibition of the State Historical Museum, Russia. The Cathedral was built in memory of the victory of Tzar Ivan IV who defeated Kazan Khanate. It is well known as the symbol of Russia and it is now a branch of the State Historical Museum, Russia.

The exhibition presents photos of the internal decoration of the Cathedral, including huge murals, abundant collection of icons, magnificent iconostasis and works of apllied art. The initial architectural structure of the Cathedral supplemented by wall paintings of different eras. Images of saints and evangelicals created from the 18th to 19th century are also presented.

The exhibition will last until December 15, 2021.
