Asian Dialogue for Cultural Heritage Conversation Held in Beijing


The Asian Dialogue for Cultural Heritage Conversation, featuring the theme of “Promoting Dialogue among Civilizations, Shaping the Future of Asia” for continuously promoting Asian cultural heritage conservation, was held in Beijing from October 27 to 28, 2021.

The dialogue was held online by China's National Cultural Heritage Administration and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality. Representatives from five international organizations including the Deputy Director-General of UNESCO, 20 Ministers of Culture from 36 Asian countries, 19 Ambassadors to China and other high-level government officials participated in the opening ceremony.

At the conference, the Asian Alliance for Cultural Heritage Conservation, jointly intitiated by 10 countries, including China, Armenia, Cambodia, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Syria, United Arab Emirates and Yemen, was officially established. The Asian Fund for Cultural Heritage Conservation and the Aisan Youth Ambassador Program for Cultural Heritage Conservation were set up by China .

Experts from 18 Asian countries gave 26 lectures on topics including “Cultural heritage promotes sustainable development in Asia” and “Cultural heritage responds to future challenges in Asia.” At the closing ceremony, the Recommendations on the Asian Initiative for Cultural Heritage Conservation was announced.
