To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the special exhibition Happy Spring Festival: Celebrating Chinese New Year at the Museum opened on January 29 at the National Museum of Decorative Arts (MNAD) in Havana, Cuba. The event was jointly organised by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cuba and the MNAD. More than 100 guests attended the opening ceremony, including Sonia Virgen Pérez, president of Cuba’s National Council for Cultural Heritage; Yosvanis Fornaris, director of the MNAD; and Hua Xin, Chinese ambassador to the Republic of Cuba.
The exhibition features 50 exquisite porcelain works selected from over 1,400 pieces of the museum’s Chinese ceramics collection, including vases, tableware and sculptures. The Dunhuang Ancient Music Ensemble performed live at the opening ceremony, adding to the festive mood.
The exhibition is open until late April.
