Tianjin Museum Unveils Exhibition on 18th-Century Italian Court Treasures from the House of Savoy

The Tianjin Museum unveiled the exhibition Crown of Glory: 18th-Century Italian Court Treasures from the House of Savoy on February 10, 2026.
Bringing together more than 150 sets (pieces) of artifacts from the Tianjin Museum and the Museum of Ancient Art at the Palazzo Madama in Turin, the exhibition showcases coins, paintings, furniture, tapestries, silverware, costumes, textiles, fans, China trade porcelain and Western glassware. Organized into three sections, “Noble City”, “Magnificent Court” and “East Meets West”, the exhibition explores court life and artistic trends under the House of Savoy in the 18th century, as well as the wave of chinoiserie that swept across Europe. The section “East Meets West” features a special selection of China trade porcelain and Western glassware acquired by Tianjin Museum in recent years, recreating the thriving commerce of the Maritime Silk Road and highlighting the historical legacy of cultural exchange between China and the wider world.
The exhibition is open until August 31.
