
On January 10, the exhibition Relics of the West Market in Chang'an City — City Life in the Silk Road Trade in Tang Dynasty opened in Zhuhai Museum. It is organized by the Xi'an Tang West Market Museum and Zhuhai Museum and will last until May 10.
The Xi'an Tang West Market Museum selects 89 sets(125 pieces) of exquisite cultural relics from its collection and those unearthed from ruins of the West Market in the Tang Dynasty, which are systemically exhibited in Zhuhai for the first time. The city life of the Tang Dynasty, under the influence of the Silk Road trade, is displayed with various crafts and rich connotation reflected in clothing, food, housing, transportation and entertainment of the time. Through these cultural relics, people can further experience the prosperity of the West Market and understand the social life of the Tang people, as well as the important historical significance of the West Market as an international trade center back in time.
