
The Putian Museum in Fujian province, in cooperation with Dunhuang Museum, Kazak Ethnic Museum of Aksay County, and Guazhou County Museum in Gansu province, opens the exhibition A World in a Grain of Sand: Special Exhibition of Dunhuang Culture on March 20.
The exhibition aims to showcase the marvelous art of Dunhuang and the cultural collision between Land Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road. In the exhibition, the audience can not only learn about the culture along the Silk Road including bamboo slips of the Han Dynasty, ancient Tibetan manuscripts from Mogao Grottoes and mural paintings from Yulin Grottoes, but also enjoy beautiful sceneries along the Road. In addition, the exhibition presents unearthed cultural relics from the Tuhulu site and the Yingwoshu site, as well as copies of mural paintings from Eastern Thousand Buddha Caves and Yulin Grottoes. All exhibits fully demonstrate life of the ancestors living in Guazhou in certain periods, enabling more visitors to understand its history and culture and promoting mutual learning and cultural exchanges.
