China's Top 10 New Archaeological Discoveries of 2021 was released on March 31, 2022. The 10 were chosen from among the 20 final-round candidates by 21 of the country's top scholars via open ballot, which was organized and released by the office of the China Cultural Relics News and the Archaeological Society of China.

Jijiao City, Lixian, Hunan Province;
Gangshagn Site, Tengzhou City, Shandong Province;
Sanxingdui Ruins Site in Guanghan, Sichuan Province;
Zhengjiahu Cemetery, Yunmeng County, Hubei Province;
Jiang Village Tomb, Xi’an, Shaanxi Province;
Tuyuhun Tomb, Wuwei City, Gansu Province;
Keyak Kuduke Fengsui Site, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region;
Fengyang Ming Central Capital Site, Anhui Province.
The new findings are vivid demonstrations of the origins of modern human beings and civilizations in China and how a united country with ethnical diversity was formed. They also display the brilliance of Chinese civilization, diversified, long-standing and well-established, extensive and profound. The two Silk Road projects selected here provided abundant physical and cultural materials for researches on the Silk Road, filling gaps and making new directions for related fields.
