Liechtenstein’s Princely Collections on display in Hong Kong

        The exhibition Odysseys of Art: Masterpieces Collected by the Princes of Lichtenstein is on display at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from November 9th, 2022 to February 20th, 2023.

        The exhibition is jointly organised by teams of experts from the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Princely Collections of Liechtenstein. Over 120 masterpieces have been selected from the princes’ collection of over 30,000 items, including oil paintings, woodblock prints, tapestries, sculptures and decorative art. Through these artworks, not only can visitors experience the princes’ passion for art and art collection, they can also explore the exchanges between China and Europe in the fields of art and architecture over the past few centuries.

        Highlights from the exhibition include 36 of the most important artworks by 17th century European masters, Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck of the Baroque period. These artworks include Mars and Rhea Silvia , The Discovery of the Infant Erichthonius and Portrait of Maria de Tassis . This is Hong Kong’s largest exhibition of paintings by the two masters to date.
