Jewelry Exhibition Opens at Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The exhibition Jewelry of the People of Central Asia and the Caucasus of the 18th Century and the Beginning of the 20th Century was opened at the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 14, 2023.

The exhibition presents over 200 pieces of jewelry and accessories from Central Asia which are the private collection of Prince Azat Akimbek, a famous antique dealer and collector. Eastern females’ fancy for Jewelry from Central Asia encouraged great jewelers to come up with new design ideas. The exhibition presents original and traditional art of Central Asia, comprehensively reflecting the history of nomadic and settled peoples throughout the centuries, who have been interconnected by ethnic and cultural development since ancient times.

The traditional craft that developed in the Sak Era did not perish in subsequent years. Artistic metalwork, especially precious metal products, represent the highest achievements of masters of folk art. They managed to achieve perfect combination of crafts and aesthetics in their products.

The exhibition will last until March 31, 2023.
