The exhibition Love, Luxury and Beauty in Classical Antiquity: Masterpieces from the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli was launched on May 30, 2023 at the Nanshan Museum in Shenzhen, China. The exhibition is sponsored by the Administration for Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sport of Nanshan District, Shenzhen and organized by the Nanshan Museum. Recreating the splendor of ancient Greek and Roman civilization, the exhibition features 128 artifacts (sets) from the collections of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli in Italy, including sculptures, murals, bronzeware, ceramics, glassware and a variety of other precious relics.
The exhibition explores the themes of love, luxury and beauty in ancient Greek and Roman civilization through five sections: “Dreaming of a Great Era”, “Love in Greco–Roman Mythology”, “Life’s Pleasures：The Roman Love for a Good Life”, “The Concept of Beauty in Ancient Art” and “Pompeii Revisited”.
