Han and Tang Dynasty Relics from China’s Western Regions: Exhibition of Selected Silk Road Relics from Turpan, Xinjiang opened on August 11, 2023 at the Guizhou Ethnic Museum in Guiyang, China. The exhibition is jointly hosted by the Guizhou Ethnic Museum and Turpan Museum.

The exhibition is organized chronologically into three sections, namely “Turpan in the Han Dynasty” “Turpan in the Tang Dynasty” and “Turpan and the Silk Road” highlighting Turpan’s pivotal role on the Silk Road. Through precious relics from Han to Tang dynasty (202 BCE–907 CE) unearthed from the Turpan region in Xinjiang, China, the exhibition showcases the exchanges and integration of traditional culture from different parts of China and the cultures of other countries in this area, revealing the Silk Road’s significant contributions to political, economic and cultural exchanges.
