
The 2023 Silk Road International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application was held on December 8 to 9 at the Xixia Imperial Tombs Scenic Area in Yinchuan, China.
More than 90 experts and scholars from over 40 universities, research institutes, museums and cultural institutions in China, Russia, Britain, Italy, Egypt and other countries gathered in Yinchuan, China to discuss the theme of “Protection and Utilization of Silk Road Cultural Heritage”. The event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, research visits of bases established for the integration of industry, education, research and application. Focusing on the historical and cultural significance and contemporary value of Silk Road Cultural Heritage, participants provided insights on the latest research outcomes on Silk Road historical and archaeological research; exchanges and mutual learning between Silk Road civilizations; the role of technology in cultural heritage conservation, transmission and utilization; and the capacity for cultural heritage to empower and re-enforce a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. They also presented experiences and case studies on cultural heritage conservation, industry, education, research and application in association with their own work.
The event was organized by the National Center for Schooling Development Programme, and the Education Department of the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, under the guidance of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
