Special Exhibition of China’s Jingdezhen Porcelain Kicks Off in Paris

The special exhibition of ceramics from China’s Jingdezhen themed Voyages of Porcelain on the Silk Road was officially launched at the China Cultural Center in Paris on January 30, 2024. As the first major event in the 2024 China-France Year of Culture and Tourism, the exhibition showcases to the French public the exquisite craftsmanship, continuous improvement and international dialogue that characterizes the Chinese spirit of innovation.
The exhibition with 48 porcelain masterpieces are organized into five sections: “Voyages on the Silk Road”, “New Expressions of Porcelain”, “The Myriad Colors of China”, “The World atop Porcelain” and “Harmony among Nations”. This presentation of Jingdezhen’s porcelain culture highlights the continuity, innovativeness, unity, inclusiveness and peace of the Chinese civilization. The exhibition retraces the long-term development of porcelain and its history of mutual exchanges with other cultures, the innovative development of contemporary Chinese ceramics, the multi-ethnic nature and vibrant artistic expressions of Chinese culture, the expressions of world civilizations through ceramics, and the Chinese approach of “peace, friendship and respect” to development.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Paris, the Information Office of the Jiangxi Provincial Government, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Jingdezhen Municipal Government. 
The exhibition will continue until Feb 18 and then tour Brussels, Belgium and Berlin, Germany.
