The Qin Han Museum of the Shaanxi History Museum Officially Opens

The Qin Han Museum of the Shaanxi History Museum officially opened on May 18. Unveiled at the same time is its exhibition series on the Civilization of Qin and Han Dynasties.
The Qin Han Museum aims to showcase the origins, development and contributions of ancient Chinese civilization during the Qin (221–207 BCE) and Han (202 BCE–220 CE) dynasties. Through its collections, the museum highlights the formative role of the Qin and Han dynasties in the development of the Chinese civilization, supplemented by archaeological discoveries and research in China’s Shaanxi region.
The Civilization of Qin and Han Dynasties exhibition series consist of the permanent exhibition Great Unity Under Heaven, and special exhibitions Cities and Mausoleum and Technology and Aesthetics. They systematically recount China’s historical journey from political unity during the Qin and Han dynasties to its eventual national, ideological and cultural unity, depicting Chinese society with great unity, and the everyday lives and cultural pursuits of its people. In addition, a thematic exhibition titled Setting Off from Chang’an: Themed Exhibition for the Tenth Anniversary of the Silk Roads’ Successful Inscription on UNESCO World Heritage List is being held to commemorate the tenth anniversary of China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan’s successful joint application of the “Silk Roads: the Routes Network of Chang'an-Tianshan Corridor” as UNESCO World Heritage. Focusing on 33 heritage sites in China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the exhibition showcases the heritage conservation, research and utilization of the Silk Roads, as well as joint archaeological accomplishments of Chinese scholars in Central Asia.
