Chinese Porcelain on Show at Central State Museum of Kazakhstan

Under the framework of Kazakhstan tourism year in China 2024, the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan and the Almaty Chamber of Commerce and Investments, in partnership with the China Ceramic Journey Organizing Committee (Jingdezhen, China), opened the international exhibition “Chinese Porcelain: Art through the Ages” in Almaty on August 1.
Chinese porcelain, being an important part of the world cultural heritage, is famous for its unique artistic style and excellent production technology. The exhibition comprehensively demonstrates the art of Chinese porcelain, introduces its history and features of style and production, ornamental patterns, a variety of colors and shapes of vases, vessels, dishes, jugs and bowls. Visitors will be able to appreciate the masterpieces of the masters of the ancient city of Jingdezhen, known as the "porcelain capital of the world" and feel the deep cultural heritage and artistic charm of Chinese porcelain. Jingdezhen, located in the picturesque southeastern province of Jiangxi, occupies an honorable place in the world of ceramics, is famous for its rich history and cultural heritage, intertwined with the millennial art of porcelain making. At the same time, the exhibition will provide an opportunity for the exchange of views and experiences between artists, ceramicists and scientists from both countries, contributing to the deepening of cooperation and development in the field of culture and art.
For many centuries, Kazakhstan and China were connected by the Great Silk Road, along the trade routes of which mutual cultural and spiritual exchange took place, products and samples of the material culture of peoples, including Chinese porcelain, were distributed. The exhibition aims to further promote the exchange and cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the field of culture and art, as well as to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The exhibition will last until August 14.
