Asian Bronze Exhibition on Display in Amsterdam

 
On September 27, the special exhibition Asian Bronze opened at the Rijksmuseum in Netherlands.
Nearly 75 Asian bronze objects, imbued with cultural memories, were showcased for the first time in Europe. The bronze pieces have withstood centuries of use while retaining their beauty and mystery
This exhibition is a unique celebration of 4000 years of Asian bronze, which played an important role in the Asian tradition. The masterpieces come from India, China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal and Korea. Ranging from prehistoric objects to contemporary artworks, and from everyday items to depictions of gods, each one is a display of astonishing skill and dazzling imagination. One of the six works loaned by the National Museum in Bangkok is Buddha Protected by the Naga , which is leaving Thailand for the first time.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue, titled Asian Bronze: 4000 Years of Beauty. A symposium on Asian bronze will be held on 9 and 10 January 2025.
The exhibition will run until January 12th, 2025.
