Russian State Hermitage Museum Launches Virtual Tour of Chinese Artworks

The Russian State Hermitage Museum has launched a virtual tour of the exhibition Culture and Art of China on its official website, allowing audiences worldwide to explore its collection of Chinese masterpieces online.
Spanning four millennia of Chinese history from ancient times to the 19th century, the exhibition offers a captivating look at traditional Chinese craftsmanship across seven galleries. It features a diverse range of artifacts, including ceramics, porcelain, metalwork, cloisonné, painted enamel, lacquer ware and silk textiles. Among the highlights is the Hermitage’s remarkable collection of stone carvings, with over a thousand intricately crafted pieces of great artistic value. The exhibition also delves into the profound significance of Chinese art through its collection of traditional Chinese paintings.
Using modern technology, the virtual tour presents more than 20 spherical panoramic views and 307 high-resolution images of the exhibits with detailed descriptions. This immersive experience allows audiences to explore Russia’s largest collection of Chinese art from the comfort of their homes.
