China and Uzbekistan Launch Joint Archaeological Centre

On May 10th, the digital exhibition Yu Hong's Era: A Cultural Confluence from 1,400 Years Ago, co-hosted by the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology, Shanxi Museum and the Fergana State University of Uzbekistan, opened at the Fergana State University, Uzbekistan. A joint archaeological center was officially launched on the same day, where a new laboratory for the conservation and restoration of cultural relics was also unveiled.
The collaboration marks a new step in bilateral cultural engagement between China and Uzbekistan, reflecting a shared commitment to archaeological research, professional training, monument protection, and international exhibition exchange. The new center will foster joint excavations, academic exchanges, and exhibitions that enhance understanding of the Silk Road’s multicultural legacy.
