Handover Ceremony of the “Project for Conservation of Silk Road Cultural Heritage through Digital Archives” at State Museum of History of Uzbekistan

On 18th August 2026, Japan International Cooperation Agency and Cultural Heritage Agency conducted the handover ceremony of the “Project for Conservation of Silk Road Cultural Heritage through Digital Archives” at State Museum of History of Uzbekistan.
The project’s objective is to enhance the capacity to protect and preserve cultural property of Uzbekistan by providing the equipment necessary for archiving the collections of cultural and archaeological value to the Cultural Heritage Agency, the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan , and the Archeological Museum of Termez, thereby contributing to cultural promotion and regional revitalization of Uzbekistan.
Grant Aid project’s amount is JPY 55,900,000.00 and includes supply of equipment such as computer equipment scanners, camera and presentation equipment and consulting services.
Results of the project will be visualized by the digitalizing and therefore preserving the cultural and historical heritage for long period and increased its accessibility through website demonstration to domestic and international visitors.
