On June 1, 2021, co-hosted by Changchun Museum and Tianjin Natural History Museum, a new exhibition called Grand View of Nature along the Silk Road kicked off at Changchun Museum.

In this exhibition, with a blend of instinct natural views into the exhibition hall, the perspective of physical geographic differences and biological diversity is instinctively taken to display biodiversity along the Silk Road and exchanges and mutual learning between the East and the West.

A total of 82 specimens of animals, plants, rocks and minerals are displayed, which are mainly divided into six units. The first unit introduces the origin of the Silk Road and the geographic locations of areas along the route, with the invention and manufacture of silk as the entry point. From the second to the fifth unit, influences and changes brought by the Silk Road to cultural communications among different places are demonstrated by displaying the rich landscapes such as deserts, steppes, and wetlands and the unique natural biological resources. Eventually, the sixth unit tells about the new development of today’s Silk Road, presenting the blueprint of the Belt and Road Initiative launched by China.
