Tour Exhibition on Ancient Shu Civilization Starts in Shanghai

On June 8, 2021, an exhibition of cultural relics unearthed from Sanxingdui Site and Jinsha Site was inaugurated at Fengxian Museum in Shanghai, which co-organized the exhibition with other two museums from Sichuan province: the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan and Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu.

Over 130 items (sets) of treasures from the ancient Shu State are on display, including the Face-shape Gold Foil, the Frog-like Gold Foil, the Bronze Human Figure and the Four-Node Jade Cong (tube). Those artifacts depict the distinct characteristics of the ancient Shu people from their spiritual beliefs as well as their daily life. Noticeably, a replica of the Sun and Immortal Birds Gold Ornament, prototype of the symbol of Chinese Cultural Heritage, is also on exhibit.

After Shanghai, these treasures of ancient Shu civilization will travel to museums in Zhejiang, Guangxi, and Guangdong to show their audience a splendid ancient Shu state.
