Anhui Museum Launches Digital Exhibition of Silk Road Cultural Relics

        The Anhui Museum launched the online digital exhibition, Splendor of the Silk Road—Exhibition of the Silk Road Cultural Relics, on November 25th, 2022, enabling visitors to roam the museum anywhere and anytime through virtual safari.

        Combining high-definition panoramic images, HDR, HTML5, interactive multimedia and VR technology, the panoramic digital museum maximises the authenticity of exhibition halls to provide visitors with a 360-degree, immersive and lasting viewing experience. The exhibition encompasses accomplishments of ancient civilizations from the vast lands of the Mediterranean, Mesopotamia, Central Asia, Western Asia and other regions between 2000 BC and the 8th century AD; presenting different cultures, art, religions, crafts, customs and folk traditions from these regions to reflect the exchanges, collision and integration of civilizations along the ancient Silk Road. Inside the panoramic digital museum, visitors can select a range of guided tour formats and settings based on their individual preferences, and select hotspots to view relevant texts and images of the artifacts to receive a personalised panoramic viewing experience.
