
The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Chinese art from the collection of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art" was held in the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art on March 29, 2023. Over 100 people attended the event, including Azerbaijani government officials, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan and people from the literary, artistic circles and the media.
This exhibition displays a total of over 300 works of Chinese art from the collection of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, reflecting from different aspects the unique artistic aesthetics, exquisite craftsmanship, and colorful social features of multiple historical periods in China.
Guo Min , China’s ambassador in Azerbaijan, emphasized in her speech at the opening ceremony that as the largest art collection center in Azerbaijan, the National Museum of Art holds hundreds of Chinese art works, which is an important proof of the long-term friendly and civilized exchanges between the Chinese and Azerbaijani peoples. She hoped that through this exhibition, guests can experience the breadth and depth of Chinese civilization, the vitality of the ancient Silk Road, and deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Chingiz Farzaliyev, director of the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, introduced the characteristics of the Chinese art collection in the museum, emphasizing that the dazzling traditional Chinese culture is unique in modern human civilization and has made important contributions to the progress of world culture. He hoped that this exhibition could make positive contributions to promoting cultural exchanges between Azerbaijan and China.
Founded in 1924, the Azerbaijan National Museum of Art is the nation’s oldest museum with the richest art collections in Azerbaijan.
