Exhibition of Ancient Greece Kicks Off in Chengdu, China

The exhibition Ancient Greece: Mythology, Heroes, Destiny—Treasures from Apulia Felix, Italy was launched on January 20, 2025 at the Jinsha Site Museum in Chengdu, China. 
The exhibition is jointly organized by the Jinsha Site Museum, China and the Regional Government of Apulia, Italy and supported by the Art Exhibitions China. It consists of six sections: Poseidon—God of the Sea, Demeter— Goddess of Agriculture, Athena—Goddess of Wisdom, Apollo—God of Light,  and Heracles—God of Strength and Dionysus—God of Wine. Under the key theme of deity worship, the exhibition vividly showcases the rich and vibrant cultural landscape of ancient Apulia during the ancient Greek era. It also features an immersive experience space that employs digital technology to recreate the grandeur of ancient Greek civilization.
2025 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Italy. This exhibition is a key initiative under the Global Civilization Initiative, implementing the consensus between the two heads of state on strengthening cooperation between museums, archaeological institutions and heritage sites in both countries. Not only is this the exhibition’s first stop in China, it is also the first exhibition of ancient Greek artifacts in Sichuan province.
The exhibition is open until May 18.
