China’s Dehua White Porcelain on Display in Malaysia

The opening ceremony of Blanc de Chine: The Art of Dehua White Porcelain from China exhibition was held on January 24, 2025 at the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The exhibition was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, and jointly organized by the National Museum of China, the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Cultural Heritage, China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur,  and the People’s Government of Dehua County in Fujian Province. Gao Zheng, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China and Director of the National Museum of China, and Datuk Seri Haji Hasnol Zam Zam bin Haji Ahmad, Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity Malaysia, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Han Ning, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur, presided over the ceremony and delivered the welcome address.
This exhibition showcases more than 40 contemporary Dehua white porcelain artworks in six sections: Youth, The Language of Flowers, Harmony and Peace, Integrity, Myth and New Realms. This curated collection highlights the unique appeal of Dehua white porcelain as an exemplar of Chinese ceramic art.
The exhibition is on display at the China Cultural Centre in Kuala Lumpur until February, 2025.
