National Museum of China Hosts Third Symposium on Museum Environmental Science

On April 17, the 2025 (3rd) Academic Symposium on Museum Environmental Science was successfully hosted by the National Museum of China in Beijing.
The event was attended by experts and scholars from museums, art galleries, archives, archaeological institutions, universities, research institutes and enterprises from the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, Japan, ROK, and China, etc. Participants gathered to explore eco-friendly and sustainable development strategies for museums and to promote interdisciplinary research in museum environmental science and preventative conservation of museum collections.
Twelve experts delivered insightful presentations on the theme of "Sustainable Development and Museum Environment". Topics included the visualization of museum environmental data, pollutant monitoring and its impact on museum collections, cultural heritage conservation and digitization, climate control and energy efficiency in museums, low-carbon and eco-friendly museum architecture, as well as risk management and preventive conservation of museum collections.
