I. Preparing Joint Exhibition on "Belt and Road"
The National Museum of China plans to hold a “Belt and Road” joint exhibition in 2019.
With the theme of “Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Civilizations”, the National Museum of China plans to co-host and provide venue for the exhibition in cooperation with national museums of countries and regions along (but not limited to) the “Belt and Road”. Featuring historical objects of land and maritime Silk Road, the exhibition will showcase exchanges among various countries and regions in commerce, religion, handicraft, science and technology, production mode, life styles, culture and art. Hopefully, the event will highlight the profound significance of dialogues, exchanges, mutual learning and integration among civilizations.
The exhibition is estimated to open for 3 months starting from April 2019.
II. Compiling the First IAMS Conference Deliverables
IAMS Secretariat compiled outcome documents of the First IAMS Conference, including the IAMS Statutes, the Framework Agreement on IAMS Exhibition Cooperation as well as the Memorandum on the IAMS First Conference. These files were sent to Conference participants and released on IAMS official website.
Upcoming Events
1. IAMS President member the National Museum of China plans to hold the Exhibition of Treasures from National Museums along the Silk Road in April, 2019.
2. IAMS President member the National Museum of China plans to host the Global Museum Directors Forum themed on “The Functions and Missions of National Museums Along the Silk Road” in April, 2019.
3. The Second Conference of the International Alliance of Museums of the Silk Road plans to be held in Beijing, China in 2020.
